Use website prices as a guide, then check the current total for your pet, address and selected service in the Woofly booking app. Compare the same included work, identify any additional charge and agree on changes before extra work starts. A starting price is not necessarily the complete appointment cost.
What amount should I expect to pay?
Use the current booking total for the selected pet, address and package, together with any additional work you explicitly approve. For a Custom Package, confirm the selected tasks and visiting charge together. If the scope changes on arrival, ask for the revised total before agreeing to the additional work.
A useful question is: “Does this total include the service I selected and every applicable charge? What, if anything, still depends on the coat assessment?” Save the answer with the booking. For an interrupted session, use the incomplete-grooming guide rather than assuming a refund or an extra charge.
| Part of the total | What to check |
|---|---|
| Selected service | The package and included tasks for this pet. |
| Visiting charge | Whether it applies and is already included. |
| Additional work | The task and revised total agreed before it starts. |
Compare the same work before comparing prices
First select the type of service using the package guide. Then compare quotes for that same scope. A bath-only price and a full-haircut price are not equivalent offers, even when both are described as grooming.
Why two prices may not be comparable
One quote may include bathing and drying while another covers cutting only. One may describe a starting amount; another may already include the particular tasks you requested. Ask both providers the same questions so the comparison is meaningful.
Also distinguish the website’s approximate city price from the current booking details for your address. An old screenshot can explain where your question came from, but it does not establish the price for a new appointment. Check the pet, location and selected package together.
A worked comparison without invented prices
Imagine you want a full body haircut and a bath. Option A is labelled “Full Grooming without bath,” while option B includes a haircut, bath and blow-dry. Comparing only the two headline amounts would leave out part of your requirement.
Ask whether adding the missing work to option A is available and what the complete total would be. Then compare that confirmed total with option B. If the services still differ, keep the differences visible rather than treating them as equivalent.
For a Custom Package, use the same approach: write down the selected tasks, add the visiting charge and confirm any other applicable charges. Do not assume the displayed starting amount buys every task on your list. This is an illustrative comparison, not a current Woofly quote or a promise of savings.
What should I ask before accepting a quote?
Keep these questions alongside the package details:
- Does this cover every task I have requested for this pet?
- Does it include a bath, drying and the type of haircut I mean?
- Are there visiting charges or other applicable charges, and are they included in this total?
- Does the coat need an assessment before the scope can be confirmed?
- How will you explain and seek agreement for any additional work?
- If some work cannot be completed, where can I find the applicable policy and support route?
The RSPCA’s advice on choosing a groomer also encourages questions about experience, equipment and your dog’s needs. Use it for evaluating care, not as evidence of Woofly prices or package inclusions.
What if the groomer proposes additional work?
Ask what changed after assessment, what work is proposed, and what the revised total will be before agreeing. For example, a coat problem may require a different plan from the style you originally requested. Clarify whether that changes the service, the finish or the charge.
If you want to stay within a budget, say so early and ask what suitable scope is possible. Do not ask the professional to push through distress to finish everything for the original amount. If you cannot agree on a revised plan, discuss the next step and check the applicable terms rather than assuming a particular refund outcome.
Keep a record that helps resolve questions
Save the booking reference, selected package, quoted total and any agreed changes. If a later amount is unclear, ask for an explanation tied to those details. A concise message is easier to answer than several unrelated screenshots.
For example: “My booking reference is __. I selected __ and confirmed a total of __. Please explain which agreed service or charge accounts for the difference.” Include the relevant confirmation through the official support route; you do not need to publish personal booking details online.
Where to check before booking
Use the Woofly booking app to confirm current options and the amount shown for your pet and address. For individual tasks, read our Custom Package planning guide. Check refund and cancellation terms for policy questions, and contact support if the terms or booking details are unclear.
